Cannot get the config tool to connect to the OSD
I have a PlayUAV OSD which is working when connected to the video transmitter and camera.
I wanted to configure the OSD to my needs so I downloaded the PX4 driver & the config tool, installed the driver and let the config tool update itself. When I chose the COM-port from the drop down menu a click on read params I get an error saying "operation failed". When I try to update the firmware the config tool says "Error opening COM-Port".
I'm using Windows 7 in a VirtualBox VM because I don't have a dedicated Windows Computer.
Is that the problem or is something else wrong?
Thank you

Hi snod,
I have the same issue with VMware on my mac.
Perhaps you could try to setup your VM to 'always plug this usb device to windows' -> sometimes delay make connection impossible during the process computer ask you.
But sure that ONLY playuav is connected (and not pixhawk/apm) during this process
Hope I'm clear.
For sure the best is native PC.

I already setup VirtualBox to always connect the playuav to the windows VM. It;s recognized, I can see it in the device manager and there is also a COM-port. I would just not let me connect to it.
In the meantime I tried to update the OSD on a windows machine at work, same os just native. That worked flawless.

Sometimes there no easy solution with usb driver and VM.
Don't know what to suggest you except "run apps as admin" and compatibility mode.
I will try many things on my VM when I will have time.

Maybe I'll have a look at the windows sourcecode and port it to mac os.
