OSD stops working after switching to Sony NEX

When I switch the Video Input to my Sony NEX Camera is see the picture for a second and then the OSD stops working. Have to power up the Pixhawk OSD to get is back working.

Any ideas what I could test?

This is a known issue. It is brought by some camera outputting non-standard video signal which is unrecognizable to MAX7456. Chip AT7456 is compatible with MAX7456, and cameras like Sony 700TVL . We used MAX7456 on the previously produced boards, and AT7456 on the new boards. Please check your board too see if it is MAX7456 or AT7456 .

Does your board work with any other cameras you have?

Best,

I can send you a new board. Or if you have some basic soldering skill, I can send the chip AT7456 to you. You need only replace MAX7456 with the same pins. You can contact me through private message.

The device doesn't seem to work with the Mobius camera either.
Does anyone know if the Mobius works with the AT7456 (mine has the MAX7456)?
Thanks very much

It should most likely work,
are you certain that you selected pal/ntsc correctly on both devices? (pal is 25/50 fps ntsc 30/60)
also if you use the video switch make sure both sources are the same format

Thank you gnrc. You are a genius!
I flashed the PlayUAV OSD to PAL (same as my cameras) and it works well and looks beautiful (compared with the awful-looking Minim OSD).
I feel like a bit of a goose.

I spoke too soon!
The device worked beautifully for a couple of uses.
Now I just see the OSD moving very rapidly in a continuous stream horizontally across the screen.
The camera still works.
I've tried everything I can think of .
Any suggestions?

Have you checked that it is still pal?
If yes try changing cam 1 and cam 2 input and see if that changes anything - could be an issue with the time the camera takes to initialize (wild guess here, lol)

Thanks for the input gnrc.
Still on PAL. Changing inputs didn't help.
I decided to buy another one which should arrive in the next few days. I'm working on the assumption that the first one is faulty somehow.
I'll tell you what happens.
Best wishes

That's great, do keep us updated.
Sadly I do not own a nex otherwise I'd gladly test it myself ;)

New device arrived and works perfectly. Looks beautiful again.
I don't know why the first one died.
As long as this one keeps going I'm happy.
